The best way to learn is by teaching. At least that is my experience. If you can take a complex topic and synthesize it down to layman’s terms for consumption, then you’ve achieved a level of mastery.

It is my perspective that there are three levels to mastery:

Know > Do > Teach

To know is to “hit the books,” and much of education is based around this concept. Then to DO is the perform in a function that provides value to the collective nature of our world. Then to teach, quite obviously, is to describe.

These are progressive steps to a conclusion.
